Role Overview
Hastt Zimbabwe has an opening for a Tractor Mechanic in Harare to support their technical crew in fixing, checking, and servicing agricultural machinery and Mahindra tractors. Professionals with a background in multi-brand agricultural machinery maintenance are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
The person hired will handle routine servicing, fault finding, testing, and restoration work on various agricultural assets. Duties involve troubleshooting electrical, engine, transmission, and hydraulic problems, executing complete engine overhauls and preventative upkeep following factory standards, and performing pre-delivery checks on fresh equipment. Additional tasks include resolving field breakdowns, handling warranty claims, filling out service paperwork, and upholding safety standards in the workshop.
Requirements
Applicants need a National Certificate in Motor Mechanics, Diesel Plant Fitting, or a comparable discipline, with a Class 1 Journeyman status preferred. Candidates must bring 3-5 years of relevant hands-on background repairing farm machinery and tractors from brands like John Deere, New Holland, Massey Ferguson, Case IH, and Mahindra. Essential competencies involve reading hydraulic schematics, wiring schematics, and factory manuals. Possession of a valid Class 4 Driver’s Licence serves as an advantageous credential.
